$2,000 CHECK PRESENTATION TO LAKELAND’S YOUTH PAL SUMMER CAMP

JUNE 2024

Variety donated $2,000 to the City of Lakeland PAL (Police Athletic League) to send ten disadvantaged or low-income household children to a summer academy camp. Variety made it possible with this donation for the PAL program to reach their goal of having enough children to operate the program. With a registration fee of $200 per child, it makes it difficult for some families to afford.

The goal of the Lakeland's Police Athletic League (PAL) is to provide enriching programs for the community's youth that are fun and will inspire them to learn and practice the values of sportsmanship, scholarships and physical fitness.

Some of the exciting places they'll be visiting during the camp season is Kennedy Space Center, Bush Gardens, Bonnet Springs Park, Adventure Island, Top Golf, H20 Water Park and a Balloon Making Workshop. They will also be enjoying activities such as swimming, skating, fishing and go-kart riding. The camp will include outings to the Movie Theater, shopping at Brandon Mall and tours of the UCF campus and US District Attorney's office.
