The Gold Heart Campaign is Variety the Children’s Charity’s signature fundraising endeavor worldwide. The campaign was created in 1991 in Great Britain by Variety International Board Member, Marsha Rae Ratcliff, who thought to create gold pins in the shape of hearts to raise funds to assist children in need. Thanks to Variety’s partnership with major motion picture studios, the program continues to be a huge success. In recent years, our partnership with Hollywood movie studios has included a pin based on a film or character and corresponding marketing materials, including point-of-purchase boxes, one-sheets, window clings, counter cards and on-screen trailers. This type of pin both helps promote the studios’ films and increases Gold Heart sales tremendously.
