Thank you Epic Theatres and the DeMarsh family. This was a wonderful opportunity for Variety the Children’s Charity of Florida to sell our Gold Hearts pins. Monsters Inc. and Star Wars pins were big hits.
Movie goers were very generous and some of the stories were heartwarming. Some of the comments, “I don’t want a pin, I just want to help raise money”. “My daughter delivered a preemie in California, and so I know what you are doing”. “Thank you”.
My biggest joy was meeting 13-year-old Caitlin and Morgan. Their mother shared their story about the girls as neonatal patients at the hospital now known as the Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies. She says her girls are just fine now.
Variety the Children’s Charity of Florida
Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios have partnered with Variety the Children’s Charity to create our 2013 Gold Heart Pin featuring Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan (Sulley), the beloved characters from “Monsters, Inc.” and the upcoming film, “Monsters University.” Locally money raised from the Gold Hearts Pins will benefit Variety programs that serve children who are disabled and disadvantaged in our own backyard.
You will be able to purchase these pins at Epic Theatres during the opening weekend of June 21st and June 22nd. Bring a couple of dollars to show your support for Variety programs and enjoy the movie at any of the following locations:
